The Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation celebrated its 2024 picks for distinguished alumni, local heroes and more on April 5, with a ceremony at the I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center.

This year’s honorees were the Music Shoppe; Shandra Summerville, Champaign Central Class of 1993; Stacy Walton Long, Centennial High Class of 1997; Barbara Suggs Mason, Central Class of 1970; Angela Rivers, Central Class of 1970; and the late Dr. William Patterson, Urbana Class of 1984, who died unexpectedly a few days before the event.
